Dr. Craig Concannon, a Beloit physician for 25 years, is a past President of the Kansas

Medical Society and currently sits on the Kansas Hospital Board of Directors. During

his year as president of the KMS, Dr. Concannon used the opportunity to promote

community-based programs to improve rural access to healthcare. He stresses that

Beloit has a unique relationship between physicians, hospital and the community,

“It’s all which serves as a model for excellence in rural healthcare delivery.

- Jason Cheney, always wanted to practice in a setting that allowed me to directly care for most of my

M.D. ill patients and that is possible in Beloit; but I also have unusual back up for a rural

area, both in medical care and in obtaining time away from my practice.”

FAAFP, Family Medicine

Dr. Cheney chose Beloit 4-1/2 years ago as a place to begin his

career and raise a family. He and his wife, Dana, felt that this community offers a

small town lifestyle that is unique in its growing number of young professionals. The

Beloit practice opportunity has given Dr. Cheney the independence to practice

medicine the way he was trained and the way that he chooses. The Mitchell County

Hospital Health Systems modern facility with state of the art equipment impressed

the young physician; the great working relationship with the staff and administration

is an added bonus. Jason Cheney, MD
